CLARIFIERS
Decantation is a solid-liquid separation process commonly used in water treatment.
Static decanters are specially designed for biological processes such as secondary settling. However, lamellar decanters are created for the separation of inorganic solids, typically in primary settling.
The function of the decanter is to separate semi-heavy and heavy elements in suspension (sand, clay, sludge), carried by the water and which impair subsequent treatment, leading to deposits in hydraulic conduits, pipes, and channels, abrasion in pump impellers and equipment.
Decanters manufactured at Toro Equipment facilities are designed for solid separation from water.
They are useful in primary and tertiary treatment.
